Since senior year has begun, I believe I have demonstrated the traits of an effective learner.
- I learn everything very quickly. In fact, I've exceed in my math this year by developing an ability to learn math/physics just by looking at it. I really like this strategy because I get a lot done in a short amount of time.
- I take really good notes, but only on the material that I find important and/or I didn't know before. I don't believe in writing down notes on things that I know VERY well. However, I sometimes will write a side note that reminds me that a piece of information is important in that section.
- I use all of my school time effectively to get all homework and projects done. During free time in class I finish homework from other class. Sometimes, I'll even work on scholarships during my free time too.
During my time working on the Senior Project, I've also been demonstrating my effective learner skills.
- Before settling on a permanent project, I weighed out all my options in a pros/cons list to decide which of my top choices were the best option for me to spend a year working on.
- During my interviews, I took down shorthanded notes so that I could get down as much as my interviewee was saying as possible. I believe I adapted this from my note taking skills.
- I'm a VERY organized person. I love everything being neat and in it's place. That's no exception to my Senior project binder. I already have it organized into different color coordinated tabs.
